Sarah Farrow – Painter

Didcot 2010 95x140cm by Sarah Farrow

‘My most recent paintings and drawings are of man-made objects/structures and mostly feature some sort of industrial quality…I like the large scale and materials; concrete, metal..the uncompromising functionality often coupled with a sculptural beauty. Yet most of them are set within a landscape of fields and sky and I like the contrast this presents.

On an slightly different note but with a similar subject matter, I have drawn and recorded the buildings and structures associated with the production of power and have thought about the relationship between these often very imposing but majestic constructions and their surrounding landscape for example in my paintings/drawings of Didcot power station,  wind turbines and electricity pylons.

I am currently working on some drawings of military ships.
